1990s Moschino Denim and Doily Novelty Print Mini Skirt
This early 1990s Moschino Jeans novelty denim mini skirt is constructed from a medium to light weight deep indigo wash denim, with a super fun, white doily print. It has some whimsical brand markings embedded in the design such as the ? mark and a discrete Moschino label in the Italian tricolore colours. The skirt features white contrast stitching throughout, including on the waistband and hem. It has six button fastenings at the front and is cut in a timeless A-line shape with 2 cutaway side pockets; the right hand side also has an additional smaller patch pocket.
Franco Moschino established Moschino Jeans for women in 1986, showing his first collection that same year. The line focused on high quality, well constructed denim garments, as evidenced by this skirt, created just a few years after the first launch. The skirt is in fabulous vintage condition with no stains or flaws. Labelled an Italian size 44, in modern sizing it is a best fit for size UK 8-10 or US 4-6. Our model (5ft 4in / 163cm) is a UK 6-8 and this skirt fit her well.
Note on Designer:
Born in Abbiategrasso, Italy in 1950, Franco Moschino studied painting at the Accademia di Belle Arti, Milan, where he supplemented his income with work as a fashion illustrator. In 1971, he began work as an illustrator for Italian designer Gianni Versace. Following his time at Versace, Moschino went on to work for the fashion house Cadette in 1977 alongside Karl Lagerfeld. In 1983, Moschino launched Moschino Couture and found enormous success before his untimely death in 1994. He was succeeded by his long time collaborator, Rossella Jardini, and then Jeremy Scott in 2013. Scott has continued the fashion house's similarly irreverent approach to whimsical design and surrealism. Long live Moschino!

Will you set anything aside for me before I come?
We are happy to find anything you may be interested in from our website - please let us know a week in advance.
We also have an extensive offline collection. If you let us know your size, style, favourite colour to wear and perhaps your budget, we can browse through our archive in advance of your appointment.
Do I need to bring anything with me?
Clients may wish to bring modern shapewear when trying on garments from certain eras, especially the 1950s. Vintage clothing was often worn with undergarments that shaped the waist and as such is tailored for them.
We have a huge variety of slip dresses and petticoats to complete your look; many of which are also for sale.
You may also wish to bring your favourite footwear. We often find a classic pair of nude shoes work well when trying on, or a pair in gold or silver.
Do you have a price range?
Many of our lower-priced pieces (under £150) are not available to buy online. Our prices range from £80 - £600 for separates. Dresses start at around £150 and go up to £2,500 for the very best antique pieces and designer vintage. Our bridalwear ranges from £300 - £3,000.
Can I bring anyone with me?

Where can I get alterations?
