1920s Off-White Lace Wedding Dress with Rhinestone Belt
This enchanting and completely original 1920s wedding dress is a rare time capsule piece. We have never seen one in such perfect condition, especially for an important dress of its age and delicacy. Designed a century ago and most likely by a couturier of note, it is crafted from sheer antique white silk and lace in a drop-waist, apron style that was the mid 1920s vogue. The fluid cut makes this wedding dress ideal for a laid-back, effortlessly chic bride. It has long bell-sleeves detailed with lace and which give way to gathered cuffs and sheer ruffles that fall over the hands. The collar is crafted from tonal lace, it is wide and curved in a sailor style which falls down over the back of the dress. The front is finished with fabric-covered buttons. The skirt is unusual; tailored from panels of lace and sheer cream silk, it falls in a handkerchief style that reveals the layers below to around the mid-calf point. The waist is finished with a faux belt in coordinating cream silk and an ornate rhinestone-smothered buckle. This dress is unlined and would have had a co-ordinating slip to go underneath. A modern replacement would work here, or shapewear for a more laid-back vibe.
A truly unique and stunningly beautiful choice of wedding dress, this piece is in fantastic antique condition. We went over the dress very carefully and the only thing we spotted were a few minute marks inside the collar but they are not visible when the dress is worn. No labels remain in the dress which is made to couture standards either in the UK or France. It would be a best fit for around a UK size 8-10 or US 4-6, and sizes smaller with a more floaty look. The fabric has no stretch and the arms are slimmer than modern garments.

Will you set anything aside for me before I come?
We are happy to find anything you may be interested in from our website - please let us know a week in advance.
We also have an extensive offline collection. If you let us know your size, style, favourite colour to wear and perhaps your budget, we can browse through our archive in advance of your appointment.
Do I need to bring anything with me?
Clients may wish to bring modern shapewear when trying on garments from certain eras, especially the 1950s. Vintage clothing was often worn with undergarments that shaped the waist and as such is tailored for them.
We have a huge variety of slip dresses and petticoats to complete your look; many of which are also for sale.
You may also wish to bring your favourite footwear. We often find a classic pair of nude shoes work well when trying on, or a pair in gold or silver.
Do you have a price range?
Many of our lower-priced pieces (under £150) are not available to buy online. Our prices range from £80 - £600 for separates. Dresses start at around £150 and go up to £2,500 for the very best antique pieces and designer vintage. Our bridalwear ranges from £300 - £3,000.
