2000s Valentino Pink Beaded Gown with Sheer Panels
This spotlight stealing, Valentino candy pink maxi dress was designed during the very early 2000s and was probably a Cruise collection piece. It was certainly designed pre 2008, when Valentino Garavani himself was still at the helm of his eponymous fashion house. Crafted from silk faille fabric in vibrant pink - a colour that has become a signature of the house, the stiffened fabric ensures that the gown holds its shape. Tailored to a theatrical fish-tail shape which hugs the bust and hips and flares out dramatically from the top of the thigh. The bust is tailored with a straight neckline and, below this, peekaboo cut-out stripes filled with sheer nude mesh curves around the sides of the body and offer flashes of skin. The cut-outs continue around to the back of the dress, forming a stunning starburst shape at the rear. The front of the bust is adorned with decadent embroidered and beaded roses in shimmering iridescent pink. The straps are smothered with beaded roses that mirror the detail at the bust. The dress is lined, only at the bust, with pink taffeta. It fastens down the middle of the back with a hidden tonal zip and hook-and-eye clasp. The label reads “Valentino” is glittering gold thread on white cloth.
The dress is in very good to excellent vintage condition with no flaws and only very gentle signs of wear noted. It has no composition label. It is labelled a size US 6, UK 10, but this dress runs much smaller so please double-check our measurements as the fabric has no stretch. A best fit for a size UK 6-8, US 2-4 maximum.

Will you set anything aside for me before I come?
We are happy to find anything you may be interested in from our website - please let us know a week in advance.
We also have an extensive offline collection. If you let us know your size, style, favourite colour to wear and perhaps your budget, we can browse through our archive in advance of your appointment.
Do I need to bring anything with me?
Clients may wish to bring modern shapewear when trying on garments from certain eras, especially the 1950s. Vintage clothing was often worn with undergarments that shaped the waist and as such is tailored for them.
We have a huge variety of slip dresses and petticoats to complete your look; many of which are also for sale.
You may also wish to bring your favourite footwear. We often find a classic pair of nude shoes work well when trying on, or a pair in gold or silver.
Do you have a price range?
Many of our lower-priced pieces (under £150) are not available to buy online. Our prices range from £80 - £600 for separates. Dresses start at around £150 and go up to £2,500 for the very best antique pieces and designer vintage. Our bridalwear ranges from £300 - £3,000.
