2016 Runway Documented Chanel Multicoloured Tweed Top and Skirt Suit
This vibrant top and skirt pairing walked the runway as part of Chanel’s Resort 2016 collection and was Look 16/96. It was featured in the Resort 2016 campaign lensed by Karl Lagerfeld himself and the suit was split up and matched with other separates from the collection. The runway show was held in Seoul and Karl Lagerfeld drew inspiration from Korean traditions alongside the saccharine colour palettes of the K-Pop world.
This two-piece ensemble showcases elements of a traditional 1960s womenswear shape and consists of a tunic-style top with a high-neck and short-sleeves. The skirt has an A-line silhouette and falls to just above knee-length. Contemporary detailing such as the wide kangaroo pocket at the front of the top, and the chunky turn-up hems that sit at the neck, cuffs and bottom hem of the skirt give a playful quality to the silhouette. Always where the fashion house does its best work, the fabric used across this ensemble is mesmerising; a fantastical weave created from chunky, interlaced threads of cotton and grosgrain ribbon in cobalt blue, pale pink, coral, neon pink chartreuse and teal. The top closes at the back of the neck with a hook-and-eye clasp and a hidden baby pink zip which fastens with a metal zip pull engraved with a double-C logo. The skirt is cut to a high-waist fit and has a few darts across the middle which offer a slight pleat. It fastens at the back of the waist with a hidden baby pink zip and hook-and-eye clasp. The inside hem of the skirt is lined with a strip of candy pink silk.
This ensemble is in excellent barely worn vintage condition. Made in France, it is labelled a size 36, UK 8, US 4 but sizes vary between brands so please check our below measurements carefully. The outer fabric is 75% Cotton, 19% Polyamide, 4% Viscose and the lining is 100% Silk.

Will you set anything aside for me before I come?
We are happy to find anything you may be interested in from our website - please let us know a week in advance.
We also have an extensive offline collection. If you let us know your size, style, favourite colour to wear and perhaps your budget, we can browse through our archive in advance of your appointment.
Do I need to bring anything with me?
Clients may wish to bring modern shapewear when trying on garments from certain eras, especially the 1950s. Vintage clothing was often worn with undergarments that shaped the waist and as such is tailored for them.
We have a huge variety of slip dresses and petticoats to complete your look; many of which are also for sale.
You may also wish to bring your favourite footwear. We often find a classic pair of nude shoes work well when trying on, or a pair in gold or silver.
Do you have a price range?
Many of our lower-priced pieces (under £150) are not available to buy online. Our prices range from £80 - £600 for separates. Dresses start at around £150 and go up to £2,500 for the very best antique pieces and designer vintage. Our bridalwear ranges from £300 - £3,000.
Can I bring anyone with me?
Yes but please do let us know the size of your party in advance.
Where can I get alterations?
We offer some alterations in house. Should you need alterations we cannot provide, we can refer you to one of our tried and trusted tailors.
Do you have an after-care service?
We will advise you on the best way to clean and preserve your vintage pieces and can also recommend trusted local dry cleaners.
Can I cancel my appointment?
You are free to cancel but please do give us as much notice as possible. If you cancel less than 24 hours before your appointment, you will be invoiced a late cancellation fee of £25.
