1990s Gianni Versace Black Leather Trench Coat with Medusa Buttons
A rare vintage and collectors piece, this dramatic leather trench coat was designed by Gianni Versace and is possibly from his infamous Miss S&M collection, Autumn / Winter 1992/93. Leather tailoring was central to these early 1990s collections and Gianni extensively wore his own leather creations. The design of the label changed in 1991 and this short-lived version was not used for long after his death in 1997.
Tailored from incredibly butter-soft black calf leather, it is finished with many classic trench details - note the epaulettes, sleeve loops, storm flaps and rain guard at the rear. The brass-toned buttons are embossed with the brand's instantly-recognisable Medusa and Greek key logo which was notably used in the Autumn / Winter 1991 collection. The black satin lining is also detailed all-over with the brand's logo.
This piece has been lovingly cared for by its previous owner and is in excellent vintage condition with no issues. The leather is without fault - no fade, dents, rips etc. We note a little surface discoloration which has not gone through to the underside of the brass neck buckle. This can be seen on the close-up photo where we have lifted up the collar; it is minor in nature as it won't really be seen. The composition and size label was located in the right pocket but only a remnant remains. It is just enough to confirm the date window as early to mid 1990s. A true unisex piece, it will fit a variety of sizes up to a UK 14 or US 10 and has comfortably been tried on by all the Circa team where this coat is a lusted after favourite! Ed, who is a men's medium and 5ft 8in, said it was short in the arms for him so lucky for me or I would have lost it :-) Our model in the photos is a UK 8-10, US 4-6 and 5ft 11in (180cm) and this coat was a great fit on her.

Do I need to bring anything with me?
Clients may wish to bring modern shapewear when trying on garments from certain eras, especially the 1950s. Vintage clothing was often worn with undergarments that shaped the waist and as such is tailored for them.
We have a huge variety of slip dresses and petticoats to complete your look; many of which are also for sale.
You may also wish to bring your favourite footwear. We often find a classic pair of nude shoes work well when trying on, or a pair in gold or silver.
Do you have a price range?
Many of our lower-priced pieces (under £150) are not available to buy online. Our prices range from £80 - £600 for separates. Dresses start at around £150 and go up to £2,500 for the very best antique pieces and designer vintage. Our bridalwear ranges from £300 - £3,000.
